He is home!!! June 2nd, 2010

A very long, but joyous day. Nick got to come home today. He is still week and having some withdrawal symptoms but, he met the criteria to be released. The therapist felt that he can get what he needs now on an outpatient basis. It is really hard to tell how much more mobility he will get back in his hand (if any). Only time will tell. That is very discouraging to him right now.

As you can imagine he was so ready to get home. It takes us a while to get things done(shower, changing clothes, etc...) because he is limited with his movement. But those who know me well, know I will get a very productive system in place soon (lol)! He hit that recliner and I have not heard a peep (well, maybe a little snoring). There is no doubt he will rest better in his own home. And yes, Moses seems to have some spunk back!!! It will take us a bit to get adjusted and figure things out, but we will get there.

He is scheduled for a follow-up visit June 15th with neurosurgery at Mayo, also that afternoon he will have his radiation oncology consultation. At that time they will give him his radiation schedule and other info regarding his radiation. But for now we rest and take it easy.

Our immediate prayer requests would be:

His left hand starts functioning better and regains more feeling in it.

The bones in the spine fuse and healing continues. It would be a huge blessing and miracle to be able to get that brace off in the next few weeks rather than months.

That mentally and emotionally Nick is able to maintain a good spirit and that God will give me the strength to continuously be his biggest cheerleader.

So much healing has taken place already to God be ALL the glory!!!I stand boldly on His word that He will continue to do a great healing in Nick. In all of us. God has brought a mighty healing on me through this. The scales have come off and the transformation that is taking place in my heart and soul makes me cry such tears of joy. Because I choose to live this out only through Him, He is bringing me amazing joy, peace and freedom.

2 Corinthians 3:18 And we, who with unveiled faces all reflect the Lord's glory, are being transformed into his likeness with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit.

Romans 12:2 Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.

I love how The Message breaks it down for these 2 verses.

Romans 12:2 So here's what I want you to do, God helping you: Take your everyday, ordinary life—your sleeping, eating, going-to-work, and walking-around life—and place it before God as an offering. Embracing what God does for you is the best thing you can do for him. Don't become so well-adjusted to your culture that you fit into it without even thinking. Instead, fix your attention on God. You'll be changed from the inside out. Readily recognize what he wants from you, and quickly respond to it. Unlike the culture around you, always dragging you down to its level of immaturity, God brings the best out of you, develops well-formed maturity in you.

2 Cor. 3:18 Whenever, though, they turn to face God as Moses did, God removes the veil and there they are—face-to-face! They suddenly recognize that God is a living, personal presence, not a piece of chiseled stone. And when God is personally present, a living Spirit, that old, constricting legislation is recognized as obsolete. We're free of it! All of us! Nothing between us and God, our faces shining with the brightness of his face. And so we are transfigured much like the Messiah, our lives gradually becoming brighter and more beautiful as God enters our lives and we become like him.

Can you imagine living a life where there is nothing between you and God? Where He is personally present? Who wouldn't want there life to become brighter and more beautiful? I want to be change from the inside out. I want God to remove the veil so I can be transparent and free!! Hallelujah!!!! Through our tests will come our testimony.

We are sippin' from the saucer (heard a sweet friend say that) because our cup runneth over with love and gratefulness.

The Badidas
